This week....Cruel Summer

"Hot summer streets and the pavements are burning...I sit around...
Trying to smile but the air is so heavy and dry (more like sticky and yuck!)....It's a cruel...cruel...cruel summer..."
-Bananarama (Cruel Summer)

Here is what we've been doing to stay out of the hot, sticky....it needs to rain...weather we've been having.
Making mazes for Leo the amazing hamster!
Um..yeah, I don't think Houdini. Get back inside those walls!
Growing snow...too bad it's not the real stuff!
Enjoying tomatoes straight from our veggie garden...yum!
The old Slip-n-slide!

Other heatwave breakers...a trip to the pool...$1 movie...making ice cream in a bag...splashing in the creek....watching Scooby Doo...playing Hyper Dash....and annoying our sister or brother...or mother...watching the plumber saw open the pipe....a week later watching the plumber install a new water heater....poking our sister....yelling "Moooom!!!!" a few dozen times before realizing I'm not answering to that anymore....reading...writing...crafts...enjoying being home....realizing the Back to School signs are up in the stores (I think that had the kids a little concerned at Target today...hahaha).
So, how are you all spending your summer?
Thanks for stopping by the Jafa House!
God Bless!

This week...The Scout & the Gymnast

This week both the kids had separate camps. Abraham was at Cub Scout camp. He came home yesterday with a fever and sore throat. Hopefully he'll be well enough to finish off tomorrows half day. Abigail is giving gymnastics a go. She is really enjoying her day camp at Wilson Gymnastics and I believe we will be signing her up in the fall.

The Scout
Abraham is really enjoys being a scout. Camp was something he's been excited about for months. The thing he looked forward to the most was learning how to shoot a BB gun.
I was so glad that he was able to do this before he got sick. He would have been one bummed camper.
They gave the boys each five shots. Abraham managed to hit the target twice. One being a bulls eye that he was very proud of!

The Gymnast
I don't have many pictures of Abbey at gymnastics camp because they don't like too many people hanging out in the gym for safety reasons. And for any of you that know me I would be the one injured...probably by my own doing.
Not the greatest photos but you can see her just beaming! She has been waiting to give gymnastics a try all year. Her face just lights up when she gets in the gym. There is no fear in that girl when it comes to trying new things. Just glad she takes after her dad...so hopefully there won't be any broken bones.

Hope you all are having a wonderful summer!
God Bless!

Mama's Wish List

Okay,  Frank took the kids to the pool this afternoon all so I could have some quiet time. Why is it that the house suddenly feels lonely and way to quiet when they all leave? So,as I'm trying to get use to the silence I find myself doing some online window shopping. Wanna see what I found?

Cannon EF-S 55-250mm telephoto zoo lens.

This book that will be out September 1, 2011. Just in time for my birthday=).

Frank being the funny man that he is said that for my birthday he was going to get me a pair of these....

because I want one of these....

to house a couple of these....

Well, I hope you enjoyed my random little post here. I'm off to sort through some photos and get some scrapbooking juices flowing.
Thanks for stopping by and God Bless!

Turning 6!

Six years ago God blessed Frank and I with a beautiful baby girl! We are so thankful for this precious gift. Abigail has brought so much love and joy to our lives. She is sweet, caring and full of spice. There is a twinkle in her eye and a smile for everyone she meets. She is so very special!
Thank you Lord!
Happy Birthday Sweet Girl! We love you so very much!

For your listening enjoyment today Jafa House will be playing a few of Abbey's favorite songs!
